Mitchell, born June 26, 1964, in Lumberton, North Carolina. He parted this life on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at McLeod Medical in Dillon, South Carolina. Alfred, Jr. was educated in the Robeson County public school system and graduated from South Robeson with honors in 1982. At an early age, he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and became a minister of the Gospel. For several years, Alfred ministered the Word of God from the pulpit and played the keyboard/Hammond Organ. He was a 23-year employee of Kayser-Roth in Lumberton as a lead technician, then employed with Coca-Cola of Florence for two years, where after they closed, he ventured into Massage Therapy and became a SC Licensed Massage Therapist. Alfred has been a Massage therapist since 2008 and has touched countless lives as an independent Massage therapist, where he worked in different locations, from chiropractor offices to spas, and provided home visits. Alfred obtained a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with Cum Laude honors from Coker College in Hartsville, SC, in 2019. While continuing to provide Massage, Alfred became an employee of Virtus Academy in 2020. Becoming a Teacher’s Assistant was his calling to the students and the faculty who adored him. Alfred’s spirit and charm were an amazing bright light to all who met him. He was full of love and kindness. He was the socialite who never met a stranger and was the encourager, the listener, and the one to turn to for guidance and support. A Word from God and prayer would also accompany this. His clients called his massage “healing hand massages.” Some never knew that he was praying for them all through those hands while providing therapeutic massage. Our Family was everything to Alfred where he was known as “Buddy or Uncle Buddy”. He was Big Brother to everyone and a wonderful nephew. Alfred Mitchell, Jr. was preceded in death by his mother, Georgianna Williams Mitchell.
