Obituary of Mrs. Nettie McRae

We, the Prestige Funeral Home Staff, respectfully announce the passing of Mrs. Nettie McRae. The family will receive friends at 2538 Carver Hall Road, Dillon, SC. Please remember the McRae Family in your prayers as they are planning her Homegoing Celebration. Her life story: Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it; Psalms 127:1 Missionary Nettie L. McRae affectionately known as “Teenie Baby”, daughter of the late John L. Dunson & Gertrude Dunson was born February 23, 1954, at St. Eugene Hospital in Dillon, SC. She attended the public schools of Dillon County and was a graduate of the class of 1972. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Faith Lighthouse Apostolic Church (led by Pastor Minnie Jones) where she was a dedicated member. Later she joined The Faithful Apostolic Church where she served faithfully as a missionary of the church, preaching and teaching the word of the Lord. She also was a member of the Pastor’s Aide Committee, and the Hospitality Committee. Nettie worked as a talented seamstress at Craft Tech Industries for many honorable years. She was a devoted Christian and lover of God. Through her faith and relationship with God, she gained strength, wisdom and understanding. She was united in holy matrimony to Elder George Edward McRae (Red Springs, NC), in May of 1983. This union was blessed with one son, Jerry McRae. The late Elder McRae preceded her in death on July 27, 1996. Nettie enjoyed going to church, reading her Bible, sewing, cooking, spending time with her family, fellowshipping, offering a word of encouragement, and helping others. In all her years of ministry, her presence was truly felt by many. She passed her love and beliefs onto her son and grandchildren (Camren McRae & Brianna McRae), whom she loved dearly. Nettie was preceded in death by brothers, Dennis Dunson and William Dunson; sisters, Carolyn Moore and Gloria Dunson; brothers-in-law Randy Moore and Willie B. Greene; sister-in-law, Annie B. Dunson. Nettie leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to her loving son, Jerry McRae (Kellye’ Dashawn McRae, M.S.N.) of Atlanta, GA, two grandchildren, Camren Jerrimiah McRae & Brianna Keliah McRae.
