Obituary of Mrs. Margaret "Faye" Cooper - Bryant

Faye’s EARLY Life… Margaret ‘Faye’ Cooper Bryant, first born of 7 children. Born May 2, 1958 in Marion, South Carolina to Parents Annie Mae Cooper-Hunt and Allen Cooper. She had six(6) younger brothers. Of course Faye was the captain of the home. A “Free Spirit” with a heart as large as the Sun! Faye attended Marion High School in Marion, South Carolina where she played basketball and softball. She also ‘dabbled’ with playing the Clarinet. She was a leader and demanded respect from all, even at an early age. Faye’s FAMILY… Faye married Perry Alan Bryant on November 18, 1978. 43 + years of laughter, joy, pain, and loyalty. Faye moved to the Atlanta Area in 1984 with her husband (Alan) and remained there until her last breath. She took care of her family and was full of ‘unexpected’ surprises at every turn. Her 6 bothers… Allen “Tom” Cooper, Alexander “Louis” Cooper, Jonathan “Ceasar” Hunt, Emerson Hunt, John Hunt and Frank Cooper (who preceded her in death) gave her strength and joy. A host of cousins, in-laws and family members are grieving her passing. Her son Dante Cooper who lost his life in a car accident touched Faye in a way that only she could understand. Her son Perry Alan Bryant Jr, better known as ‘Pea Jay’ was the love of her life. Their close relationship was immeasurable. He stood by her and truly could be her twin. Her son Rowbel Sykes whom she was Step-Mom to was a huge part of her heart and loved immensely like she birthed him herself. There are 5 grandchildren who were her reason for her smile. She continually ‘bragged’ about each of them and would constantly give everyone and update on their status and newly acquired activities and character. Faye’s LEADERSHIP Skills… Faye exhibited her leadership skills in every endeavor she encountered. She always gave advice to all and directed those who were within her space. Being the ‘Free Spirit’ that she was, working for ‘the man’ as she put it so gracefully was not for her. She did domestic work for only those she ‘chose’ to work for and she was a passionate giver to children and pets. She began her own Day Care business and did a fantastic job. Children from all over would be safely cared for by Faye. Her loving spirit brought many children into her company. Faye’s INDEPENDENCE… Faye was the epitome of a ‘Free Spirit’ in everything she did. She knew what she wanted, when she wanted it and how she wanted it. Her strong character was inviting to others who wanted (in the background) to be more like her. Her husband (Alan) always said “You know she is gonna do what she wants.” When anyone needed something from her, she would openly give it and also let you know if it was the right thing by her standards for you to do. You could tell her not to do something ‘1 million’ times but if Faye was determined she did it anyway. “Every door that was open she accepted and was a dedicated, diligent, and loyal friend…” Faye’s CHARACTER… Faye had a wonderful sense of humor! She had a way of making a bad day be forgotten quickly. She always had a ‘quote’ of her own that would make you laugh and often bring joyful tears for her whit and personality. She would say things all the time that would make you forget whatever ‘issue’ you thought was heavy on your heart. Like the time her friend was in labor at the hospital and Faye came to support her. She brought a bunch of candy and chips and ate them in front of her and then turned up the music and sang to her through every ‘contraction’ to help ease her pain. That was “just” Faye being Faye. Her quick whit and humorous side was the foundation of her huge heart and free spirit. She genuinely loved people in her own way. Her loyalty to those around her was unwavering. She enjoyed playing PacMan and Candy Crush till the early morning hours. Early on she was entrenched in working with Macramé and occasionally ‘bugging’ her husband when she would accompany him on fishing trips. Faye’s Gift… Faye’s gifts to all are numerous and widespread. Each person who knew her can bring you a story that will make you laugh, make you smile and always be a memory. We thank her for being a chapter in our lives and pray that we will see her again on the ‘other side’. She was a ‘FREE SPIRIT’ and now her ‘SPIRIT IS FREE’. We will NEVER Forget!
