Obituary of Mr. Haywood McCall

Haywood McCall was born on April 18, 1959 in Washington DC to Alex McCall and the late Mildred McCall. He spent his early years in Maryland and later moved to Virginia. Haywood was a proud member of the United States Army from 1979 until 1983, receiving his basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and was later stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia. He received an army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Marksman Badge, First Class (Hand Grenade) Badge, and Good Conduct Medal and a host of other ribbons and badges. Haywood entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 21, 2022. He loved to visit his family every summer in Dillon, South Carolina, where he met the love of his life Elizabeth ( Tiny) McCall. Haywood and Tiny were married on June 16, 1984. They loved to take trips and yearly cruises, visiting Alaska, the Bahamas, and Jamaica. Haywood was a huge Washington Redskin fan, now the Commanders. He worked at Long & Foster for over 35 years, where he was a courier and retired on May 2, 2021. Haywood and Tiny retired to Hope Mills North Carolina, in November 2021. Haywood was a family man who loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. Haywood cherished his prize possession, his Candy Red Corvette. He loved to go to car shows and collect Corvette memorabilia. He was always there when anyone was in need to lend a helping hand. Haywood leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Elizabeth McCall of Hope Mills, NC, his daughters Tiffany (Michael) Williams of Culpeper Va, and Iris (Antaeus) Chisley of Greenbelt,MD. His son Creg McCall of Arlington VA., his father Alex McCall of Washington DC., and his brother Ravon McCall of Suitland Maryland. His grandchildren: Malik Grooms, Ayden Williams, Jordyn Jackson, Cameron McCall, Carter McCall, and Chase McCall, and a host of nephews, nieces, family, and friends. Haywood was predeceased by his mother Mildred McCall, sister Iris McCall, and grandson Mikey Williams.
