Mother Ella Rose

Obituary of Mother Ella Mae Rose

Mother Ella Mae Rose, daughter of the late Henry Cobbs and Helen Ratley was born on March 16, 1932 in Dillon, South Carolina. Mother Ella Mae, as many would call her, answered her peaceful call from Heaven on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at her home surrounded by her children. Mother Ella Mae had a heart of pure gold and her ambition and passion to help others throughout the community was a giving spirit. I don't think there was anyone in Dillon County that didn't know the name of "Ella Mae Rose" and what she stood for. To know her was to love her. Mother Ella Mae was a faithful member of the Greater Highway Church of Christ Inc., under the founder and leader, the late Bishop RF Davis. Mother Ella Mae served on the Usher's Board, Pastor Aide, Combine Choir, Seniors on the Move, and the RF Davis Mass Choir until her health started to decline. Mother Ella Mae was educated at New Holly United Methodist Church School. Mother Ella Mae worked at Pee Dee Ceramic, Charlie's Restaurant, Price's Farms and World Finance, just to name a few. She also attended MJ Adult Daycare. Mother Ella Mae was united in Holy Matrimony on December 25, 1948 to Mr. Linton Rose.
