Obituary of Mr. Lennie Tyrone Tyson

Lennie Tyrone Tyson affectionately called “T-Rone”was born June 6, 1962 in Dillon SC to the late James Baines and Mamie Tyson Manuel. On Monday, April 4th, Tyrone quietly departed this life at McLeod Regional Medical Center. He attended the public schools of Dillon County and graduated from Dillon High School in 1981. At an early age, Tyrone confessed his faith in Jesus Christ and was a dedicated and faithful member of Minturn Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Minturn SC, where he served as a Trustee, a member of the Mass Choir, Male Chorus and one of the church’s Groundskeepers. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge District #8 (Dillon, SC). Tyrone was known for always smiling, laughing, and holding “long” conversations whenever you would see him. He enjoyed fishing, nursing his garden, cooking on the grill, and hosting family events at his home. He leaves to cherish his wife Lynndora Tyson, Step-Father Ernest Manuel (Dillon, SC), daughter Lashawnda Purnell (Dillon, SC), son Jameel Malachi (Clio, SC), grandchildren Ajana Tyson, Jamarion Malachi, Jakavia Malachi, Raziah Malachi. Siblings - Sarah Margaret Stokes (Edin, NC), Daniel Baines (Syracuse, NY), James Baines (Syracuse, NY) Lucinda Baines (Syracuse, NY), Jemar Reeves (Columbia, SC), Keyasia Manuel (Dillon, SC) and Keyunda Manuel (Dillon, SC). Brother-in-laws; Lee Roberts (Teresa) Lloyd (Dillon, SC), Larry (Dorothy) Lloyd (Bennettsville, SC), Michael (Abbey) Lloyd (Blandenburg, NC), James Lloyd (Bennettsville, SC); Sister-in-laws, Ola (Percy) Burke (Bennettsville, SC), Angela Johns (Bennettsville, SC), Godsons Johnny Livingston (Dillon, SC) and Tahj Ladson (Charlotte, NC). Adopted daughters Jessica Wilson (Columbia, SC) and Felicia Tyson (Charlotte, NC). Three very special cousins: Marilyn McClain, James (JT) Tyson and Willie “Bubba” Brown. Special friend: Jerome Thompson and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Tyrone's warm hearted spirit, as well as his deep love and affection for children, led him to becoming "Pa-Pa" to a host of Grandchildren that loved him and will deeply miss him.
