“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself: that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:3 God in His Almighty power and infinite wisdom, who is too wise to make a mistake and too just to do wrong saw fit on Sunday, May 1, 2022 to quietly and serenely take the soul of Bridget Sirlena Burden Green Thomas from labor to reward. Bridget was born February 28, 1967 in Newark New Jersey to the late Mildred Lee Burden and James Burden. As a child, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined Palmetto Deliverance Tabernacle. She loved the Lord with all heart and pursued the heart of Jesus by committing her life to the work of ministry and becoming an Evangelist. She would spread the Gospel of Jesus at any opportunity. She later joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she served diligently and faithfully as the choir director of the Youth Assembly Choir. She dedicated her time and heart to pursue her passion for Christ. Bridget attended the public schools of Latta, South Carolina and graduated from Latta High School in 1985. She continued her education at Columbia College in Columbia South Carolina where she graduated with honors with and associates degree in Secretarial Science. Her desire to improve lead her to Francis Marion University where she worked and received her bachelors degree. On September 4, 1997, one of the greatest accomplishments of her life was born, Elexis Anastasia Meridilee Green. One of the greatest joys of her life was being a mother and later a grandmother. She met the love of her life, Darrick Thomas, and in May 2000 they were joined in holy matrimony. She leaves to cherish fond memories her husband , Darrick Thomas of the home, her three daughters, Elexis Green of the home, Deniesia Nicole Porch of Greensboro NC, Nyia Smith of Jersey City, NJ, her five grandchildren, Da’Von Green of the home, Jazmyn Porch of Greensboro, NC, Kingston Martin of Columbia, SC, Avi’onna Parker of Jersey City, NJ, Javaya Page of Dillon, SC, her four sisters, Wanda (Jack) Clark of Columbia, SC, Barbara (James) Page of Dillon, SC, Constance Martin of Dillon, SC, Sabrina (Ronald) Jacobs of Dillon, SC; two brothers, Gregory (Tana) Martin of Latta, SC and Tyrone (Renay) Martin of Columbia, SC; her father-in-law, Albert Thomas of Bayonne, NJ; four sister-in-laws, Ellen (Kenny) Williams, Elena Thomas, Roslyn Thomas and LaVera Thomas all of Bayonne, NJ; one brother-in-law, Bobby (Annette) Thomas of Bayonne, NJ; one uncle, James Moses Brown of Latta, SC , two aunts, Victorine Burden of Newark New Jersey, and Frank Lou Brown of Latta, SC, a host of special cousins, Joise Johnson-Ali of Willingboro, NJ, Frank Burden of Conyers GA, Gregory Burden of Grand Prairie, TX, Bessie Rogers of Willingboro, NC, Bishop Willie Berigman of Loris, SC and a host of her beloved God Children too numerous to name; her special friends, Keysha Mason, Rebecca Gaskins Mejia, Evangelist Sylvia Williams and Gloria Greer, a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. The family is receiving guest at 1845 Cypress Bluff Ct, Dillon, SC 29536.
