Obituary of Mr. Alexander McLellan

Alexander (Roy) McLellan entered his eternal rest on Friday, July 15, 2022. He was born in Dillon, SC on November 8, 1952, to the late Edward Samuel and late Flora Taylor (survived by Fred Taylor). He attended Dillon County Public Schools and recently retired from Lakeview School District 4. He was the beloved husband of Carrie Lee McLellan with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. Affectionately known as Roy, he loved being in the presence of family and friends. His freeheartedness was big as his smile. In return, he was admired and loved by many. Roy was a member of St. Matthew AME church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 40 years. Roy was a pillar to the Oakland/Hamer Community. He was a father, brother, and dear friend to everyone in Dillon. When you met him, his jokes and laughter would always leave you with a smile on your face. He really cherished his family and friends and was extremely close to his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Carrie McLellan of Dillon, SC; children, Tyrone (Lofta) Wright of Greer, SC, Latreva Padilla of Raleigh, NC, Derrick (Yolanda) McLellan of Blythewood, SC, Shawna McLellan of Florence, SC, and Caryn McLellan of Newark, NJ; 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. He also leaves to cherish siblings; Edward (Betty) Samuel Jr, John McLellan, Charles (Gladys) McLellan, Vincent (Carolyn) Samuel, Judy (Johnny) McCoy, Linda Samuel, Amanda Taylor, Fred (Shirldine) Taylor, Alma Samuel, Darlene Samuel, Victoria Taylor, Sidney (Greta) Samuel Jr., Keith Samuel, and two preceding in death Miriam (Lafon) Wall, and Marie Samuel. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends
