Obituary of Mother Mamie Braddy

Mrs. Mamie Braddy, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ed and Beulah Wall was born on October 6, 1925. She departed this life on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at McLeod Hospital in Florence, SC. Mrs. Braddy was a member of Weston Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church until she moved to Philadelphia, PA and joined Wesley African Methodist Church, where she served faithfully for over 50 years. Mamie Braddy was educated at Dillon County Training School in Latta, SC. She had one child, Marvin Cedrick Wall, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Gladys W. Bethea (Joe) and Viola Bethea (James); a niece, Mae Frances and 3 nephews, Joe Jr., Earl and Larry. Mrs. Braddy worked for 38 years at Kline’s Uniform Services in Philadelphia, PA. In 1955, she married the love of her life, the late Mr. McKever Braddy. In 2009, she returned to South Carolina and resided in Dillon, SC. She rejoined Weston Chapel A.M.E Church, where she attended until her health failed her. At the time of her death, she was a resident at Southland Nursing Home in Florence, SC. Thanks to all of them for their loving care. She leaves to mourn her passing 2 grandsons, Andy Vanhook and Chad McKnight both of Philadelphia, PA; one stepsister, Maewest Cabbagestalk of Latta, SC; 8 nieces and 2 nephews, Sylvia McWilliams (Kenneth) and Evelyn Bethea of Florence, SC, Shirley Fore (Robert), Lillian Dixon (Von), Barbara Hamilton, Beulah Bethea, Mamie Bethea, Jacqueline Bethea all of Latta, SC, Ronald Bethea and Jerry Bethea (Tanya) of Highpoint, NC and a host of great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and special friends, Mrs. Pearl Bennett, Ms. Mary Miles and Tina. The family will receive friends at 1344 Woodhaven Road, Latta, SC 29565. Please continue to remember the Braddy Family in your prayers.
