The family will begin receiving friends on Wednesday, June 21st from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m. at 2247 Cattle Farm Road, Latta, SC 29565. Please remember the Green Family in your prayers as they prepare to celebrate the Life and Legacy of Mother Green. Her Life Story: Ida Mae Green was born to the late Issac “Buster” Harrison and Luvenia Harrison on March 8th, 1934 in Dillon County, South Carolina. She received her early education at Mill Branch Hall and later graduated Valedictorian from Latimer High School in 1951. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mill Branch Missionary Baptist Church. She served the Lord in several capacities including: being a choir member, an usher, a secretary and she was on the Mother’s Board. Ida later married Elisha Green, and from this union 7 children were born. Ida Mae, affectionately referred to as “Momma” worked several years in the textile industry at Craftex Creations as a seamstress and later at Leggs Industries as an Inspector. Between working long shifts in the textile industry, she somehow found the time to support her husband, Elisha on the family farm. When she wasn’t farming and working, she spent her time caring for her family. Whenever someone was sick, “momma” had the remedy. She was well known for her “cooking” skills, in particular her legendary “dressing”. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, (Elisha); one brother, (Otliss Harrison); one son, (Randy Green), and one granddaughter, Tiera White. She leaves to cherish her fondest memories, her children; Cathy Crawford of Latta, SC, Morris Green (Gwen) of Latta, SC, Janice Green of Latta SC, Carl Green of Rialto, CA, Felicia Tuff (Derrick) of the home, and Jeffery Green (Harelda) of Latta, SC; 2 sisters, Rebecca McEachern of Union, New Jersey and Elizabeth Garner of Greensboro, NC; one brother, James “Jay C” Harrison of Greensboro NC; one uncle, Bishop Paul C. Brown of Sicklerville, New Jersey and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will forever miss her warm smile, generous heart and profound wisdom.
